You’ve all met my bookish side. Well you’re about to meet my techie side. Professionally, I’m part app developer, so technology is a SERIOUS passion of mine. It’s one of the places where my head is at all of the time, so I always know about the best and newest apps out there.

This brings me to my good news:

My app recommendations are no longer just for my family and friends! My bosses at Ballpoint have asked me to write a weekly app review for our blog! Why hadn’t I thought of that? Unlike other app review sites, we offer the golden perspective that only other app developers can! We know how ALL of the components work – creative, technical, everything.

I hope you’ll enjoy this side of me!

With love,

While we’ve discovered that education games are mostly still finding their way, no one is bringing it like MindSnacks. The designs are stimulating, the games are fun, and the learning is real.

Whether you buy one of their seven foreign language apps or their new SAT vocabulary app, you won’t regret it. Visual learner? Great. Play Shutterbug or Totem, games that prompt you to match vocabulary with corresponding pictures. Context learner? Give Sort ‘Em a go. In a very Lucy-and-the-chocolate-conveyer-belt way, sort as many words and phrases as you can within the allotted time. Auditory learner? MindSnacks has got your back. You can hear native speakers pronounce words and phrases as you shoot down meteors in Meteor Attack. Keep your fish alive in Fish Tank. And spell for your survival in Word Birds. Last but not least, you can perfect your grammar while safely delivering elephants in Mystery Crate. The drawings are whimsical and gently humorous.
